The Chair of Clement of Ohrid

It was inaugurated as the Table of Clement of Ohrid in 1978, situated on the path that turns off the main road to the village of Kras. A stone chair and eight stone blocks as stools are placed in a circle under an oak. The inscription on the teacher’s chair is inscribed in Glagolitic and Cyrillic: The Chair of Clement Bishop. The memorial is dedicated to Clement (around 840 – 916), the most famous and most significant student and follower of Cyril and Methodius, founder of the first Slavic university, the school he established in Ohrid.
The construction of the Table was supported by the Macedonian Academy of Science and Arts, and two of its high representatives were present at the inauguration, the President Mihajlo Apostolski and the member Blaže Koneski.
